Daniel Levi is a partner at Beccar Varela, having joined the firm in 2004.
His practice areas include corporate law, with a particular focus in corporate finance, banking law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and commercial contracts.
Daniel has extensive experience advising on local and cross-border financial transactions, including loan facilities, syndicated loans, securitizations, project financings, and distressed acquisitions, acting either on the financial institutions’ or on the borrowers’ side.
He also co-leads our Fintech Department, assisting foreign and local initiatives in all the verticals of business, with special expertise in regulatory aspects. His comprehensive approach allows him to give advice in all the stages of business, from structuring, landing, and capital raising, as well as in daily corporate and regulatory advice. He is strongly committed to projects that generate a positive impact.
Daniel obtained his Law degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (2006) and a Masters in Finance from the Universidad del CEMA (2011, with distinction). He also has post-graduate studies in Negotiation at Harvard Law School (USA, 2014), in Valuation of Financial Institutions at APIMEC and in Private Equity & Venture Capital at INSPER Institute (Brazil, 2016), in Innovative Banking & Fintech at Imperial College Business School (UK, 2018) and in Digital Banking at Universidad Di Tella (2018).
Daniel worked as a foreign associate at Pinheiro Neto Advogados (São Paulo, Brazil, 2015-2016) in their M&A and Banking & Fintech departments. This experience allowed him, as a co-founder and a co-leader of our Brazil Desk, to be a facilitator for Brazilian investors and Brazilian-based projects coming to Argentina, and for local entrepreneurs interested in doing business in the neighbor country.
Between 2009 and 2015, Daniel was a professor in Contracts and Negotiation at the Universidad de Palermo (Argentina).
He is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association and of the International Bar Association. He also actively participates in the Argentine-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CAMBRAS).
Daniel has been recognized by The Legal 500 as a next-generation lawyer within Banking & Finance, and has also been distinguished by other international publications such as Latin Lawyer, IFLR 1000, Chambers Fintech Legal and Leaders League.
He speaks Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
