Beccar Varela is the first firm in Argentina to specifically add climate change to our environmental legal services, counseling clients on related risk and compliance in their operations and value chains. We are engaged in complex financial inclusion initiatives ranging from assisting NGOs to advising major financial clients on impact investing and SGS bonds, including the issuance of green notes and gender notes. Specifically, the team delivered ground-breaking regulatory changes allowing a not-for-profit to participate in the national capital market for the first time, opening the window to finance microcredit projects across the country. We also advised on the issuance of the country´s first SGS bond with a gender perspective.

We lead and participate in critical public policy initiatives leading to regulatory improvements to foster ESG, such as national legislation to allow for the incorporation of BCorps (“BICs” in Argentina).
