Roberto H. Crouzel is a partner at Beccar Varela, where he co-heads the Corporate and M&A Department. He is also a member of the Pro Bono Committee. He joined the firm in 1984.
His practice areas include mergers & acquisitions, general advice, banks & financial Institutions, debt restructuring and project finance. He has ample experience in international transactions, as well as in advising companies of a various industries, including financial services, telecommunications and natural resources. He also has extensive experience in microfinance and family companies’ advice.
Roberto obtained his Law degree from Universidad de Buenos Aires (1984). He has participated in a number of courses at the Universidad Católica Argentina, Universidad Austral, Harvard Business School University and the International Association of the Developing Right, among others. He worked as a foreign associate at Holme, Roberts & Owen (Denver, Colorado, USA, 1996).
Roberto served as assistant professor of the Chair of Commercial Law at the Universidad de Buenos Aires between 1990 and 1995. In 2008, he has served as a visiting professor in the Latin-American Programme of Internal Practices at the Sturm College of Law, University of Denver.
He is a Counselor of the Pro Bono Commission of the Colegio de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, of which he was one of its founding members and president. He is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association, and the International Bar Association (IBA).
Roberto has been recognized by Chambers Latin America, Chambers Global, The Legal 500, IFLR 1000, Who’s Who Legal, Latin Lawyer 250, Leaders League, LACCA Thought Leaders and LACCA Approved. In 2019 he was recognized with the inaugural “Lifetime Achievement Award for Pro Bono work” by Chambers and Partners.
