María Fernanda Mierez is a partner at Beccar Varela, where she co-heads the ESG and Company Law departments. She is a member of the Pro Bono Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She joined the firm in 1997.
She focuses on company law and M&A. She has broad expertise in the design of start-up and entrepreneur businesses, as well as businesses seeking positive social and environmental impact following a Triple Bottom Line model. She also advises on the development and incorporation of civil associations and foundations.
Fernanda obtained her Law degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (1996).
Fernanda is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association and the International Bar Association, where she is an IBA’s Business Human Rights Committee officer. She is the president of the Pro Bono Committee of the Colegio de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, a Board member of Sistema B (NGO promoting B Corp development in Argentina), and a member of FAME (Argentine Forum of Executive Women), an association she chaired during the period 2018-21.
In 2022, the Chambers and Partners publication honored Fernanda with the “Diversity and Inclusion: Outstanding Contribution” award (Chambers Latin America Awards 2022).
