Horacio E. Beccar Varela is the firm’s managing partner, a position he holds since first elected in 2000. He is also a member of Beccar Varela’s Executive Committee and heads the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

His practice areas include international business transactions, finance agreements, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. He led several teams working on corporate restructurings, acquisitions, complex financing agreements and privatization proceedings. He actively participates in international fora as institutional representative of the firm and also in conferences related to professional firms’ management.

Horacio graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (Lawyer, 1984) and obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Illinois, USA (Urbana-Champaign College of Law, LL.M., 1988). He worked as foreign associate at Shearman & Sterling (New York, USA, 1988) and at Hughes Hubbard (New York, USA, 1988-1989).

He is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the Advisory Board of TrustLaw and the Board of Directors of the Colegio de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.

Horacio has been recognized by The Legal 500, Who’sWhoLegal, Latin Lawyer 250, IFLR 1000 and LACCA Approved.

He speaks Spanish and English.
