Alejandro Poletto is a partner of Beccar Varela. He joined the firm in 2010, when it merged with Fortunati & Asociados.
His practice areas include banking and finance, mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, corporate law, project finance, mining, and oil & gas. Alejandro leads international and local M&A transactions, representing buyers, sellers and financial advisors; he also participates in IPOs, local and international bond offerings, securitizations through financial trusts; structured finance and other financial transactions. He co-heads our mining department and has also participated in several transactions related to the oil & gas industry.
Alejandro obtained his Law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina (1998) and his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA (2002). He also has postgraduate degrees in Oil & Gas from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (2014) and in Capital Markets from the Universidad Católica Argentina (2003). He worked as a foreign associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP (New York, USA, 2006-2007). Prior to joining Beccar Varela, Alejandro was a partner at Fortunati & Asociados, which he joined in 2005, and an associate at Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal and Cardenas Cassagne.
