María Fernanda Mierez awarded with Chambers’ “Diversity and Inclusion: Outstanding Contribution” prize.

The international publication Chambers and Partners recognized Beccar Varela’s partner María Fernanda Mierez with the “Diversity and Inclusion: Outstanding Contribution” award on October 28th, at the Chambers Latin America Awards 2022 ceremony, held at the Emanuel Luxury Venue in Miami Beach, Florida, United States.
The award distinguishes lawyers of the region that have shown an outstanding commitment across multiple strands of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. Throughout her career, Fernanda has worked in diversity and inclusion across the broadest range of law matters, from pro bono work for access to justice for the most vulnerable to financial inclusion and the advancement of women lawyers and executive leaders. Fernanda has simultaneously promoted gender equity in the firm, in the legal profession, and in society in general.
With great emotion, Fernanda expressed, “I thank Chambers for this important recognition, which though addressed to me, in fact reflects the values of diversity and inclusion promoted by each member of Beccar Varela. I am thankful to them for their effort and dedication in collaborating with these causes day to day. As lawyers, we have a key role to play in the urgent agenda of diversity and inclusion. María Fernanda Mierez is a partner at Beccar Varela, where she co-heads the Company Law Department, and actively participates as a member of the Pro Bono and Diversity & Inclusion Committees.
