Power Department Report | The Secretariat of Energy calls to present renewable generation and storage projects

On May 6th, 2022, the Secretariat of Energy issued Resolution No. 330/2022 (the “Resolution”), published in the Official Gazette on May 9th, through which it called on interested parties to submit Expressions of Interest (“MDI”) to comprehensively develop infrastructure projects that contribute to incorporating Renewable Generation and/or energy storage facilities at grid points. With this, it seeks to reduce and/or eliminate supply restrictions and/or decrease the requirement for generation and/or forced importation.

The call is addressed to public and private companies, Agents, or not of the Wholesale Electricity Market.

According to the Resolution, COMPAÑÍA ADMINISTRADORA DEL MERCADO MAYORISTA ELÉCTRICO SOCIEDAD ANÓNIMA (“Cammesa”) will publish on its website a report identifying the nodes with local generation requirements, their dispatch needs, and seasonality.

Among other information to be provided by the interested parties about their projects, it will consider the proposals and alternatives for remuneration or commercialization, reference costs of estimated investments to be considered in the evaluations, and the conditions of insertion in the network.

The deadline for MDI presentations expires on June 30th, 2022. Cammesa will consider the MDIs as reserved information during the development of the call, and they will be subsequently derived for consideration by the Secretariat of Energy.

Please, do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information on this matter.

Sincerely,
