Beccar Varela names new partners in corporate, financial, and life sciences law.

Buenos Aires, April 12th, 2022. On April 7th, Beccar Varela promoted Ana Andrés, Felipe Videla, and Lucía Degano to partners in recognition of their talent and the great contribution they have made to the firm in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, corporate law, financial law, project finance, and healthcare & life sciences.

Ana Andrés joined Beccar Varela in 2003, where she heads the Healthcare & Life Sciences Department. With her in-depth industry knowledge, she advises local and international clients active in this sector on corporate law, regulatory, and litigation matters, as well as market evolutions and opportunities. She also has broad experience in mergers and acquisitions. Ana obtained her Law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina (2005, with honors), her master’s in Corporate Law from Universidad Austral (2009), and a postgraduate degree in Health Law Institutions from Universidad Católica Argentina (2020).

Felipe Videla joined the firm in 2011. He focuses on corporate and financial law. He also has extensive experience in capital markets. He has participated in various major corporate and banking transactions, including project financing for local and international clients, and in complex debt restructuring processes. He worked as a foreign associate at Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr. e Quiroga in Sao Paulo, Brazil (2016). He obtained his law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina (with honors, 2010) and his master’s degree in Economic Business Law from the same university (with honors, 2021). He participated in an exchange program at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (USA, 2008). He pursued post-graduate studies in banking law and finance at Universidad Católica Argentina and Universidad Austral. He is a member of the firm’s Brazil Desk and its pro bono committee.

Lucía Degano joined Beccar Varela in 2010. She manages the regional office that the firm recently opened in the free trade zone in Uruguay. Her main practice areas include mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, private equity, finance law, and agribusiness. She has acted in various M&A transactions in various industries, and in financing operations advising local and foreign banks. Lucía obtained her law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina (2011, with honors). She obtained her Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA) from IAE Business School (2019). She worked as a foreign associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in London, UK (2015-2016).

Managing partner Horacio E. Beccar Varela states: “I am excited about the promotions of Ana, Felipe, and Lucía.
