Our mining team provides legal services to all players in the industry’s value chain, including producers, exploration companies, and suppliers.

Regarding the senior mining companies, we have the required knowledge and experience to face all kind of challenges; complemented by the fact of being a full-service law firm, with over 150 attorneys specialized in all areas or corporate law, including environment, tax, labor and even corporate crime law.

As of the junior mining players, we have the flexibility, and a broad network of local attorneys in each province and jurisdiction, which allow us to render specific and sophisticated advice, no matter the size of our client or the stage of their explorations.

We have experience in senior and junior mining transactions, including Due Diligences and drafting and negotiating various kinds of agreements, such as MOU, Term Sheet, NDA, JVA, SPA, SHA, Earn-in, Take-off, Farm-in, EPC, EPCM and related complex agreements, as well as on corporate governance affairs of TSX, AIM or ASX listed Companies, and their listing challenges regarding local subsidiaries.

We also participated in negotiating and drafting easement agreements with superficiary landowners.

We advise on regulatory issues at the national and provincial level, as well as for cross-border deals, and assist global clients with market entry strategies, through either acquisitions or the direct establishment of a local subsidiary, including corporate registrations.

Our experts have been involved in the country’s historic first major mining project financings, and we continue to assist mining clients with complex financing structures. We have extensive experience in structuring legal solutions for mining project finance thanks to our strong M&A, banking and finance, and private equity teams.

Members of our mining team have been working actively as general counsels of mining companies, with experience in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Colombia, with legal mining studies in Chile.
