PRACTICES

Environmental Law & Climate Change

Our Environmental Law & Climate Change Department serves clients across all industries, with particular expertise in natural resources and energy projects, as well as in the infrastructure, telecommunications, automotive, transportation, agro-industrial, health, consumer products and real estate sectors, among others.

We counsel national and international companies on regulatory, permitting and compliance-related issues and audits (including compliance with national, provincial and municipal legislation, industry regulations, wastes, contamination and cleanups, and climate change among others). We also assist clients in detecting and preventing civil, criminal, and administrative contingencies.

Providing an integrated service, our environment team is engaged in many of the major mergers and acquisitions and project finance deals, providing due diligence and working on the environmental law aspects of the transactions.

Our environmental due diligence embraces sustainable business practices, evaluating related social issues such as community participation in environmental reviews, in order to provide clients with the broadest perspective.

Our team represents clients on all kinds of judicial and administrative proceedings and advises clients on negotiations with regulatory authorities.  We also identify and track key bills and proposals that may impact the operations of clients.

Members of our environment team have been recognized by Chambers Latin America, The Legal 500, Latin Lawyer 250, and Who’s Who Legal. Various members of the team have studied or worked abroad, and have experience working in law firms in other countries.
