December 2020 marked the first anniversary of Alberto Fernandez as the President of Argentina. The context evidenced by the economic crisis and negotiations with the International Monetary Fund was compounded by the covid-19 pandemic, which had a significant impact in the world, with special effect in Argentina. Social isolation seemed to be at first the most appropriate measure to preserve people’s health. However, the consequences of shutdown did not take long to reveal negative economic effects. In addition to the challenge of economic recovery, the government had to add a new one: how to preserve the health of Argentineans without worsening the economic crisis in the country. Unfortunately, this is a challenge that the government will continue to face on a daily basis and for as long as the pandemic lasts…
