Environmental Law Department report | OPDS Resolutions No. 292/2020, No.293/2020, and No.294/2020: Attention to the public – Natural reserves – Penalty procedures

Dear Sir or Madam,

Through Resolution No. 292/2020, the Executive Board of the Provincial Agency for Sustainable Development of the province of Buenos Aires (OPDS) resolved to extend the limitation of face-to-face attention to the public until October 25, 2020. This limitation was initially established by Resolution No. 170/2020 OPDS and extended by several resolutions, which established the limitation to urgent cases of face-to-face attention (the resolutions do not clarify which the urgent cases are).

On the other hand, through Resolution No. 293/2020, the same authority resolved to extend the transitory restriction of entry of visitors to the Natural Reserves that are under the orbit of the OPDS until October 25, 2020, with the exception of 17 reserves, which will be opened to the public when the corresponding protocols have been approved.

Finally, through Resolution No.294/2020, the Executive Board of the OPDS resolved to exempt the procedures governed by Resolution No. 445/2018 (Regulation of Administrative Procedure for Infractions to Environmental regulations) of the provisions in article 1 of Decree No. 167/2020, which suspends administrative procedures and deadlines as a result of the COVID19 pandemic.

Resolutions No.292/2020, No.293/2020, and 294/2020 were published in the Official Gazette on October 23, 2020.

Should you require any further information on this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Angeles Murgier
