Intellectual Property – Patents & Trademarks Department report | Resolution INPI No. 183/2020: extension of terms’ suspension

Resolution No. 183/2020 of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) (the “Resolution”), published in the Official Gazette today, extends the suspension of terms originally provided by Resolution No. 16/2020, later extended by Resolutions No. 22/2020, No. 34/2020, No. 37/2020, No. 42/2020, No. 47/2020, No. 51/2020, No. 69/2020, No. 78/2020, No. 109/2020, No. 116/2020, No. 127/2020, No. 142/2020, No. 167/2020 and No. 171/2020.
In this connection, due to a new scenario of the mandatory and preventive social distancing provided by Decree No. 875/2020 of the National Executive Branch and conferred a new extension of the term’s suspension of all administrative procedures through Decree No. 876/2020, the INPI decided to newly extend the suspension of terms until November 29, 2020, inclusive.
Finally, the Resolution establishes that the minimum guards and with prior appointment, provided by Administrative Decision No. 524/2020 on April 23, 2020, will be maintained.
