Dear Sir or Madam,
On May 20th, 2020, the Ministry of Health of Argentina issued Resolution No. 941/2020, published in the Official Gazette today (“Resolution”), by means of which the Superintendence of Health Service (Superintendencia de Servicios de Salud) was instructed to grant exceptional financial support to Health Insurance Agents (Agentes del Seguro de Salud) in order to ensure appropriate functioning of health services and timely payment of healthcare providers during the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
This support is for the Health Insurance Agents who suffered a revenue reduction during April 2020 and in relation to March 2020.
The amount of the financial support will be paid with resources of the Emergency Assistance Fund established by Decree No. 908/16, Section 6 affected by the Program for Institutional Reinforcement and Improvement of Quality Service of Health Insurance Agents (Programa de Asistencia Financiera para el Fortalecimiento Institucional y Mejoramiento de la Calidad Prestacional de los Agentes del Seguro de Salud) established by Decree No. 554/18
Financial support does not exempt employers or entities adhered to the Simplified Regime of Small Taxpayers (Régimen Simplificado de Pequeños Contribuyentes – RS) from contribution payment according to the applicable law.
Health Insurance Agents must destine received funds to the provision of health attention services for their beneficiaries.
The Resolution will enter into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
