Today, Decree 1012/2020 was published, by means of which the resignation of Eduardo Bertoni as director of the Agency for Access to Public Information was accepted, which will be effective as of January 1, 2021.
Eduardo Bertoni served as director of the National Directorate for Personal Data Protection (2016-2017) and later as director of the Agency for Access to Public Information (2017-2020).
Starting in 2021, he will hold the position of Alternate Representative of the Regional Office of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights -IIHR- for South America, based in Montevideo.
This Decree does not appoint a new director of the Agency for Access to Public Information, so the designation of his replacement is still pending.
