Promotion of María Eduarda Noceti to partner in labour practice.

Argentine firm Beccar Varela has strengthened its labour and social security offering by promoting one of its senior associates to partner.
The Elite firm announced the promotion of María Eduarda Noceti to the senior rank on 9 November, bringing its partner tally to 46. The firm now counts a total of nine women in its partnership, representing a percentage of 21%. That is above the average for Argentine firms, which is 18% according to the LL250 Performance Index.
Noceti has worked at Beccar Varela for just shy of 10 years as a senior associate in the labour practice, which partner Álvaro Galli currently heads. She advises both local and international clients on complex litigation matters, including hiring and dismissals of executives, disputes, restructuring and due diligence cases.
Before her time at Beccar, Noceti worked as a lawyer in the labour department of fellow Highly Recommended firm Nicholson y Cano Abogados.
Managing partner Horacio Beccar Varela says that he is pleased about Noceti’s promotion. “María not only stands out for her great talent and knowledge of labour law but also for her leadership and capacity for conciliation,” he adds.
Newly minted Noceti will “bring incredible drive, quality, and direction to the team,” comments Varela, while “her incorporation as a partner is excellent news for the firm, reaffirming our constant commitment to talent,” the managing partner concludes.
Noceti asserts that her promotion represents a long-awaited milestone in her career. “I hope to contribute to the firm’s growth and continue providing excellent legal services,” she says.
As one of Argentina’s oldest law outfits, Beccar Varela is recognised as a prolific force across several practice areas. Back in January, the firm’s managing partner – Horacio Beccar Varela – was named as the winner of Latin Lawyer’s Law Firm Leader of the Year Award.
The firm has also featured in several deals recently. Last month, it served as counsel to the underwriters for a bond issuance worth US$1 million by Latin American-focused NGO Pro Mujer. In August, it advised the insurance subsidiary of Grupo Sura – Suramericana – divest its Argentine business to Grupo Galicia. The same month, it guided Brazil’s Banco Itaú in the sale of its Argentine subsidiaries to Banco Macro for US$50 million.
Beccar Varela is also widely celebrated for its Pro Bono efforts and was announced as Latin Lawyer’s Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year Award last year. Its prestige in this area was consolidated this month when the International Bar Association presented partner María Fernanda Mierez with its 2023 Pro Bono award.
