The National Executive Branch extended the national energy sector emergency for one year, until July 9, 2026, through the decree of necessity and urgency n.° 370/2025, regarding the generation, transportation and distribution of electric power under federal jurisdiction, as well as the transportation and distribution of natural gas.
The decree entered into force on June 2, 2025 and it will be effective as long as it is not expressly rejected by both Houses of the National Congress, after a ruling to be issued by the Joint Standing Commission (Comisión Bicameral Permanente).
