Buenos Aires, February 23, 2026 — Beccar Varela has been awarded Americas Oil & Gas Deal of the Year: VMOS Pipeline for its advisory role in the Vaca Muerta Sur (VMOS) project, as part of the 2025 Project Finance International Annual Awards.
The award recognizes Beccar Varela’s legal advisory work in the USD 2 billion syndicated financing for the development of the Vaca Muerta Sur (VMOS) project, a key infrastructure initiative for the transportation and export of crude oil from the Neuquén Basin. The transaction, which involved the participation of 19 leading international banks and institutional investors, is one of the most significant financings in the regional energy sector, standing out for its complexity, scale and strategic relevance to the development of Argentina’s energy market.
Ricardo Castañeda, partner at Beccar Varela and a member of the team advising the lenders on the transaction, said: “This award reflects the scale and complexity of the VMOS financing and the collaborative work of all parties involved.
