Buenos Aires, January 26, 2026 — Beccar Varela was recognized, alongside other law firms and legal departments, with Latin Lawyer’s Diversity Initiative of the Year Award for its participation in the Protocol for Hiring of People with Disabilities, an initiative led by the Pro Bono Commission of the Buenos Aires City Bar Association.
The award recognizes the protocol as a benchmark tool designed to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities within law firms and in-house legal teams, through a practical and collaborative approach that brings together standards, recommendations and best practices applicable to the Argentine legal market.
The initiative was launched in September 2025 at the Buenos Aires City Legislature as a guide aimed at promoting the hiring of people with disabilities within the legal sector.
Delfina Balestra, Executive Director of the Pro Bono Commission of the Buenos Aires City Bar Association, stated: “This recognition highlights the collective effort behind a practical tool aimed at guiding organizations on inclusive recruitment processes and fostering a broader conversation around the barriers people with disabilities face in accessing employment.”
Felipe Videla, partner at Beccar Varela and a member of the team involved in the development of the protocol, added: “For Beccar Varela, contributing to this initiative from its early stages was a highly rewarding experience. The protocol reflects a technical and collaborative effort aimed at generating a real and sustainable impact on how the legal sector approaches inclusive employment, key to our professional practice and to our role in fostering more inclusive work environments.”
In addition to Beccar Varela, the development of the Protocol for Hiring of People with Disabilities involved the law firms Allende & Brea, Bruchou & Funes de Rioja, Cerolini & Ferrari Abogados, Marval O’Farrell Mairal, PASBBA Abogados, Pérez Alati, Grondona, Benites & Arntsen, Pozo Gowland Abogados and Tavarone, Rovelli, Salim & Miani, as well as the legal departments of Accenture, CALSA, J.P. Morgan Argentina and Meridional Seguros.
The Protocol can be accessed here (in Spanish only).
The award will be presented at the Latin Lawyer Awards ceremony, to be held on May 7, 2026, in São Paulo, Brazil.
