Beccar Varela, Jones Day and Baker McKenzie in Procter & Gamble and Newsan’ strategic agreement
On July 1, 2024, Newsan S.A., the leader group in the manufacturing and commercialization of home appliances and consumer electronics, announced an exclusive agreement with Procter & Gamble (P&G) for the commercialization in Argentina of its iconic brands Gillette, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Downy, Vick, Cebión, among others, as well as for the manufacturing and commercialization of Pampers diapers and Always pads.
This exclusive licensing and distribution agreement also includes the acquisition by Newsan of 100% of P&G Argentina’s equity, a manufacturing plant in Villa Mercedes, and the general offices of P&G located in the Province of Buenos Aires.
The parties have declared that this agreement will allow both companies to leverage their strengths, with P&G Global providing innovation through its brands and products, and Newsan providing its capabilities and experience in the Argentine market, together with the human talent brought by P&G Argentina.
Beccar Varela acted as external counsel for Newsan S.A., while Jones Day (New York office) and Baker McKenzie (Buenos Aires office) advised P&G.
