Litigation Department Report | Order 15/2020: electronic processing of official letter requests to external entities of the Judicial Branch

Dear Sir or Madam,

Within the state of sanitary emergency declared regarding COVID-19 and the mandatory social, preventive isolation measure duly decreed, in order to improve the provision of justice service and to implement the use of new technological tools, on 22/5/20, the Supreme Court issued the Order 15/2020. Through this Order, the Supreme Court provided: (i) that from 1/6/20 and progressively, the official letter requests addressed to public or private entities that are repeatedly and regularly delivered, will be processed only in digital form, (ii) the approval of the “Rules for the Electronic Processing of Official Letter Requests to External Entities External of the Judicial Branch –DEOX-” (the “Rules”) which is annexed to the Order.

The Rules provide: (i) how to issue a request for a report, (ii) the granting, by the Supreme Court, of a Judicial Electronic Identification (IEJ) to the external entity and the requirements to obtain it, (iii) the procedure for the electronic processing of official letter requests and for the external entity to answer electronically, (iv) the procedure to manage the assignment of a code to the external entity to the Judicial Branch and its registration, (v) the regulation of access and use of the service offered through the web pages http://www.csjn.gov.ar/ and http://pjn.gov.ar, establishing, inter alia, the general and particular conditions of use of the “Electronic Processing of Official Letters Requests to External Entities of the Judicial Branch” module.
