Miguel Silveyra is a partner at Beccar Varela, having joined the firm in 1998. He co-heads the firm’s Company Law Department.

His practice areas include company law, family business governance and corporate advice. He specializes in the design of company and contractual structures to develop business activities, in the negotiation and drafting of shareholders’ agreements, bylaws and rules of corporate governance in general, in family estate and company succession planning, and in the management and resolution of company conflicts.

He advises family companies and partner groups in the process of negotiation, planning and design of rules of corporate governance for the management of their business groups, in the drafting of family protocols and shareholders’ agreements, and in their estate and succession planning. He has also intervened in company conflicts of different kinds, either as consultant of directors, as director appointed by the shareholders or as legal representative of the local or foreign shareholders.

Miguel obtained his Law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina (1993); obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Universidad Austral (1995) and a Diploma in Advanced Studies from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Madrid, Spain, 2004). He worked as foreign associate at Gomez Acebo & Pombo (Madrid, Spain, 2004).

He has participated actively in conferences and seminars on company law and corporate governance, and has published several articles concerning his practice areas in legal journals, joint works and newspapers.

He is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association, the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Family Firm Institute (FFI).

He speaks Spanish and English.
